Rutgers Belly Dance Troupe

Big R Stage
The purpose of this organization is to perform Bellydance choreography for the public, extending from Rutgers University to the tri-state area. It is our goal to represent Middle Eastern dance as an art form and to also educate the public about both traditional and modern forms of the dance. It is essential to ensure that our members progress in their dancing in a way that is ergonomic and both physically and mentally positive. We are committed to combating the social stigma sometimes associated with bellydancing, so that it is represented in a positive, nonsexual way that is true to the original intentions of the dance.
